Corby Kemmer is an experienced development, public affairs, and stakeholder‑relations professional with more than two decades of leadership across higher education, nonprofit organizations, political operations, and government service.
He previously served as Partner Relations Specialist with the North Dakota Department of Commerce, where he strengthened partnerships, supported community and economic development efforts, and advanced statewide commerce initiatives.
Before joining Commerce, Corby served as a Regional Director for U.S. Congressman (now North Dakota Governor) Kelly Armstrong, representing the Congressman across North Dakota and working closely with constituents, community leaders, and local organizations.
From 2019 to 2022, Kemmer was the Executive Director of the North Dakota Republican Party, guiding statewide political strategy, operations, and outreach. Prior to his work in state politics, he built a strong career in fundraising and development, serving as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Minnesota Crookston and in leadership roles with Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota and the University of Mary. The Mayville, ND native began his fundraising career at Mayville State University as an Associate Development Officer and Assistant Director of Comet Athletic Club.
Across each role, Corby has been recognized for his ability to build relationships, engage stakeholders, and support mission‑driven organizations throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. Corby and his wife, Sherry, reside in Bismarck, ND and have two children.
