About Primacy’s Federal Practice

Primacy Strategy Group (www.primacysg.com) is a bipartisan, high‑trust consulting firm built for clients who need more than standard government relations. Our federal practice is intentionally lean, collaborative, and results‑oriented. We help corporations, trade associations, nonprofits, and public‑sector partners navigate Congress, federal agencies, and the broader policymaking environment.

We don’t simply monitor government activity. We help clients understand what matters, develop smart strategies, and execute with discipline. As our Washington office continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated professional to support our lobbying team and senior staff while building a long‑term career in government relations and public policy.

What This Role Is

This is not an entry‑level position. It is designed for a Hill‑trained professional — typically 2–5 years on Capitol Hill — who already understands how Congress works and can immediately strengthen PSG’s client‑facing federal operations.

The Client Services Associate & Policy Analyst will support federal strategy execution, lead and coordinate client fly‑ins, prepare advance materials, and contribute to high‑quality deliverables while growing into an account‑manager‑level role. The ideal candidate brings Hill fluency, professional polish, and a strong base of legislative process knowledge.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and coordinate client fly‑ins, including scheduling, briefing prep, day‑of logistics, and meeting flow management.
  • Prepare and manage advance materials, including briefing packets, talking points, meeting agendas, backgrounders, and tailored client prep documents.
  • Support federal strategy development across a diverse client portfolio.
  • Draft client updates, briefing materials, meeting summaries, issue memos, and background documents.
  • Track legislation, hearings, markups, and relevant committee activity.
  • Conduct policy and legislative research and prepare concise analyses for internal and client use.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Congressional offices, committees, and federal agencies.
  • Assist in preparing materials for congressional meetings, agency engagements, coalition events, and client presentations.
  • Help maintain and update client work plans, lobbying reports, and internal tracking systems.
  • Support business development efforts through research and preparation of background materials.
  • Provide day‑to‑day operational support for the Washington office.

What You Bring

Required

  • 2–5 years of substantive Capitol Hill experience (LC, LA, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of legislative processes, committee dynamics, and Hill operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and run point during fly‑ins.
  • Experience preparing briefing materials, talking points, or advance packets for senior staff.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Polished interpersonal and communication skills suitable for client‑facing work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A proactive, self‑directed work style and willingness to take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience drafting memos, talking points, or briefing materials for senior staff.
  • Familiarity with federal agencies, coalitions, or trade association engagement.
  • Experience working in a client‑service or consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with Canva.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $60,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Direct exposure to senior government relations professionals and clients across a range of industries and policy issues.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial work environment where strong performance is recognized and rewarded.
